Workshops

The following are dates for our workshops in Schwabach. Please note that the number of participants is limited. No previous knowledge necessary.

1st Workshop – Creative gilding techniques with Kölner products

Date: 29.01.2027

To begin this workshop, we’ll explore the fascinating interplay of matte and glossy gilding. Using Kölner Instacoll and Kölner Archicoll, we’ll create a frame, which, combined with Kölner Caselo, will achieve a unique color scheme. Our next project involves embellishing a wooden box with metal leaf. You’ll learn how to personalize decorative surfaces by combining color, stencil techniques, and metallic accents. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece with a golden look. Next, we’ll work with Kölner Signcoll and Kölner Archicoll, along with a selection of stencils, to apply expressive patterns and decorative designs—ideal for special accents and creative design ideas. Finally, we’ll apply Kölner Miniatum to canvas, a technique that combines modern gilding with artistic expression. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels and requires no prior experience. We look forward to your participation and an inspiring exchange of ideas.

The courses include consumables, food and drinks.

2nd Workshop – Kintsugi Optics Meets Calligraphy

Date: 30.01.2027

On Saturday, participants in our workshop can look forward to a very special highlight: the Kintsugi technique. Using the Cologne Art Line Fine Detail Kit – Kintsugi, we will create delicate gilding, inspired by the Japanese art of repair, which doesn’t conceal cracks but rather enhances them. We will also explore the application of Cologne Miniatum, a special adhesive for fine calligraphy on paper, and the gilding of your own handwriting. The workshop culminates in painting on gold leaf. Here, traditional techniques meet contemporary creativity as we work with brush and paint on the exquisite gold surface. This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to learn new techniques, try out high-quality materials, and further develop your own artistic style. The workshop is suitable for everyone and requires no prior experience.

The courses include consumables, food and drinks.
