Gilding course
1st course – Modern leaf gilding
Immerse yourself in the world of contemporary gilding techniques! In this practice-oriented seminar, you will learn how to gild with Cologne Instacoll and Permacoll – two proven adhesive systems for modern leaf gilding indoors and outdoors. New to the range is the object setting with Cologne Caselo casein paints – an innovative technique that opens up creative design possibilities on a wide variety of surfaces. You will learn how to optimally prepare substrates, process adhesives professionally and apply sheet metal cleanly and brilliantly. In addition, we share valuable tips from everyday workshop life with you and take time for individual questions and problems. This course is aimed at both beginners and experienced gilders who want to deepen their knowledge and learn new techniques.
The courses include consumables, food and drinks.
Course 2 – Reverse Glass Gilding & Classical Oil Gilding
This course opens the golden window to history: Together we will dedicate ourselves to reverse glass gilding – a fascinating technique with centuries of tradition that today offers completely new possibilities thanks to modern materials and methods. In addition, you will get to know classic oil gilding – in glossy and matt versions. This technique is ideal for weather-resistant applications such as signs, ornaments or traditional art objects. In the course of the day, we will guide you through the selection of suitable carrier materials, the professional handling of oil mixtures and the design of reflective, deeply glowing gold surfaces behind glass. Error avoidance and tricks for optimal results are just as much a topic as insights into the practical experience of our master gilder Mr. Dietmar Feldmann.
The courses include consumables, food and drinks.
